Fun at Pool

Our day started with - of all things - an earthquake. Ally and Gail were sitting on the couch when it started to shake...they both looked at each other and went "Whoa - earthquake!" Jorge was walking in the room at the time and didn't feel it. Read later that it was a 3.8 quake, centered under the small island of Kahoolawe, which we can see from our deck.

Today was our first pool session with tanning and pool time. Went down a little early since it was our first time in the sun and we didn't want to overdo it. After a half-hour of sun, we hit the pool. Just us a a handful of little kids in the water...a nice time before the crowd arrives.

Jorge brought along his new little toy - a tiny underwater camera. It's about 2 inches by 2 inches and we had a hoot with it in the pool. Ally was trying to replicate the moves of "Bond Girls" coming up out of the water. Here's a video:

Turns out Ally doesn't like having water in her nose, which gave us a lot of amusement. Jorge was trying to convince her that she didn't need to hold her nose underwater...she just needed not to breathe in. Didn't have a lot of luck with that!

When we go to Maui, we usually take the DVDs from a couple of TV shows that we haven't watched, but want to get started with. Today we started with Modern Family, which is a riot.

We hit the barbecue tonight with some salmon and corn on the cob. Here were are hanging out at the barbecues with some cold ones while waiting for dinner to cook. No sunset tonight to speak of, too many low clouds on the horizon.
