The Azeka Rib Experiment

Okay...it was chicken and not ribs. But tonight we tried out the Azeka marinade recipe I found online. The chicken had been marinating for the required 24 hours...now it was showtime!

We headed down to the barbecues, Jorge carrying our precious cargo.

Also at the barbecue tonight were several folks from Seattle and Redmond.

So Jorge loaded the barbecue with our chicken. Yes, it looks like a lot for the three of us...but we decided to cook a lot and then have it on hand for lunches. Lots of lunches.

The grill next to ours was cooking ribs...though they had underestimated how frozen the ribs were and were wondering when they might ever get done. They were also grilling bell pepper halves stuffed with portabella mushrooms.

Jorge and Ally enjoyed another cold one while we waited for the chicken to grill. It looked and smelled amazing.

When done, we scurried back up to the condo to dig in. The verdict: while it was not the exact Azeka taste we were trying for...it was damn good chicken. It tasted an awful lot like the chicken you get at teriyaki places..and that's not bad.
